World Boxing Council super bantamweight world champion, Yamileth Mercado, will face Paulette Valenzuela on August 26, seeking to make the sixth defense of the Green and Gold Belt, at the Morelos Convention Center.
The promoter Zanfer announced the fight between the champion and contender “Heiress” Valenzuela, who has three victories in a row since her attempt to win world titles in France in 2021.
Yamileth has faced and fought quality fighters Amanda Serrano, Alejandra Guzmán and Mariana Juárez. Last March she defeated Kudakwashe Chiwandire, improving her record to 21 wins with 5 knockouts and only 3 losses.
A close to home fight fiesta for Tijuana fans , since the “Heiress” was born on the border while Yamileth has been living in Tijuana for some time and is on Jackie Nava’s team with Miguel Reyes, Raúl Robles and Mario Mendoza.
