Fight Fans Can Witness HERstoric, All-Female Pay-Per-View Fight Card on WBC Channel Powered by VIVE Network https://vivetv.cleeng.com/superwomen-shields-vs-dicaire-super-welterweight-unification-event/E237706015_US
It’s the final countdown to Friday, March 5, 2021 – a day that will forever mark monumental significance in the history of not only professional women’s boxing, but the entire sport, in a mega- high stakes face-off between three-division world champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields and IBF Super Welterweight Champion Marie-Eve Dicaire. If victorious, Shields will become the first-ever (female or male) undisputed four-belt world champion in two different weight divisions.
Shields’ promoter, Salita Promotions, has lined up a strong string of women’s bouts for the undercard, including a WBC Silver Heavyweight Title rematch between rivals Danielle Perkins (2-0, 1 KO) and Monika Harrison (2-1, 1KO) as a co-main event.
In the spirit of lifting high the legacy of professional female boxing, the World Boxing Council (WBC) will support the livestream of the broadcast in association with VIVE Network. Since the pandemic of 2020 all but annihilated live sports, the WBC and VIVE have been laying the groundwork for various boxing showcases in 2021, in recognition of the hard work and perseverance of boxing talent and promoters worldwide.
Claressa Shields, a fierce proponent of women’s equality, has publicly voiced frustration about not only the postponement of her return to the ring, but also the absence of Pay Per View opportunities for female fights. Timing is everything, as she is headlining the first female Pay Per View boxing event in many years, just in time for the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th.
The March 5th showdown aptly entitled “SUPERWOMEN” will be preceded by a one-hour pre-show streamed live via VIVE’s platform beginning at 8PM Eastern. Tickets are available at for $29.99 USD (ticket sales do NOT benefit World Boxing Council).
Fight fans may tune in to the live stream of the weigh-ins on March 4th via WBC and VIVE’s respective Facebook pages.
