Considered one of the best fighters of the moment, WBC champion in two divisions, Katie was born on July 2, 1986 in Bray Ireland. As an amateur boxer, she won the World Championship five times between 2006 and 2014, and the European Championship six times between 2005 and 2014.
She won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics for which she was named Ireland’s Sportswoman of the Year 2012. Taylor made her professional debut in November 2016 winning by fast track. Taylor won the WBC lightweight world title in June 2019, defeating the experienced Delfine Persoon, a title she defended seven times.
For 2023, Katie faced another great world champion Chantelle Cameron in a fight that generated great expectations, as Tylor was moving up a division and although she lost in the first match, the fight was so exciting that just months later they met again to this time defeating Cameron by majority decision at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, becoming the undisputed champion in a second weight class.
The unified champion, in addition to being an exceptional talent, has also stood out as a great soccer player, representing the Republic of Ireland.
