Since last Tuesday, strong fires have scorched the island of Maui, in Hawaii.
In the last few days, the firefighters and thousands of volunteers have shown magnificent heroism, helping victims in search and rescue work, providing medical care and shelter.
This event is already considered one of the greatest tragedies in modern USA history. It is estimated that there are already more than 90 fatalities and widespread infrastructure destruction as well as flora and fauna.
A week after the start of this tragedy, thousands of people have had to abandon their heritage land and have to stay in emergency shelters. The line of fire has been controlled, but firefighters still face several fire zones.
We join Pope Francis, in sincere prayer for the victims of the fires. We ask God to give the Hawaiians the resolution of strength to face this terrible situation, rebuild their foundations and emerge stronger than ever.
May all the warriors of Hawaii receive our best wishes and blessing at this uniquely difficult time.
