WBC Convention Memories: Jimmy Lennon jr`s SURPRISE!

The World Boxing Council was privileged to welcome an iconic character from our sport, who served as the Master of Ceremonies at the opening of our 59th world Convention.

Jimmy Lennon jr., With his great deportment, skills, delivery, and elegance once again directed the actions of our ceremony. And one of the most memorable moments came,  when he himself received a more than deserved surprise tribute.

Jimmy Lennon jr`s brilliant career as a Ring Announcer in championship fights kicked off with the battle for the vacant WBC super featherweight crown between Julio Cesar Chávez and Mario “Azabache” Martínez. So the WBC decided to recognize him and those two in charge of giving him his recognition. It was apt, historic and heart-warming, accompanied by a resounding round of applause.
