WBC CARES in Bahia
Meeting: SOLIDARITY BOXING (BOXE SOLIDÁRIO)

Who is involved in this event?
In addition to the intellectual mentorship of the Gold Olympic Champion – Tokyo 2020, the Brazilian Hebert Wilian Carvalho da Conceição Sousa, (Hebert Conceição), the Promoter Ruy Pontes and the Academy Champion – Bahia.
The CNB (National Boxing Council) was an important witness to the accomplishment of this social project, through SOLIDARITY BOXING, together with WBC CARES BRAZIL, and live throughout Brazil by TV Canal COMBATE

What was done?
SOLIDARITY BOXING was a professional boxing program in the city of Lauro de Freitas-Bahia, Brazil, at the Bahia Sports Arena, with the participation of 18 Brazilian boxing athletes, whose public access took place through the donation of non-perishable food to be distributed to people/families in need, through philanthropic entities recognized by the Government, such as GACC- Support Group for Children with Cancer; Social Project Grupo Olodum; Nosso Lar Association and the Social Volunteers of Bahia.
More than 2.5 tons of food were duly delivered.
The public present was on more than 2 thousand people.
How did this event impact?
In the social aspect, acceptance by the public in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador-Bahia was absolutely overwhelming, either because of the publicity in the media, or because of the incredible participation of the public who packed into the gymnasium.
Having a follow-up event?
The responses of this social action by SOLIDARITY BOXING were translated into three phases:
1) Dissemination of the importance of helping communities in need of food through Sport, with emphasis on BOXE, creating an awareness that it is possible to do it successfully;
2) To provide a short-term response to this social action, with the immediate distribution of food to the population, through charitable entities legally recognized by the Government;
3) Show that the union of promoters and national and regional entities of Boxing in Brazil can also inspire other Sports Federations to also carry out similar social works in favor of the population.

Final words:
In the case of BOXE SOLIDARITY, there was no idealizing Foundation or Philanthropic Institution.
It was an idea of the Gold Olympic Champion – Tokyo 2020, the Brazilian Hebert Wilian Carvalho da Conceição Sousa, put into practice through the institutional partnership with Academia Champion-Bahia; the LBI (Amateur and Professional Boxing League of the Interior of Bahia) , the Superintendence of Sports of the State of Bahia and the CNB (National Boxing Council).
More than 2.5 tons of food were duly delivered.
The public present was on more than 2 thousand people.
We understand that inspiring ideas like this from the young Olympic Champion Hebert Conceição, now starting his professional career, may be able to stimulate other new ideas and social actions through BOXE.
The WBC wants to know more about the importance of social actions that we live here in the realization of SOLIDARITY BOXING.
