WBC Cares Celebrates Emotional Double Activities in Mexico City

Today, the boxing family experienced a so poignantly  memorable day by celebrating two tremendous activities as part of our WBC Cares program.

Tepito

Boys and girls from the Lucio Tapia Primary School received gifts from Güerito de Tepito and Christiane Manzur, President of WBC Cares México, on the occasion of the celebration of Children’s Day.

“Education is one of the most important parts in the development of children. Accordingly at WBC Cares,  we are dedicated to showing children that boxing is a sport in which they have an option to get away and steer away from drugs and other malignant vices. For us it is essential that today a child is accompanying us who demonstrates that in boxing. She or he is the example to show and lead. The way with dedication, determination and tenacity. That supreme example is the Güerito de Tepito,”  commented Christiane.

Juan Pérez took the microphone and encouraged the boys and girls to embrace this sport, “I want to tell you that there is something more than drugs and the streets, it is boxing, I invite you to work at  it and above all to Don’t stop smiling.”

Seeing a child smile is the greatest satisfaction. It is the reflection of innocence, bliss and hope. For those of us who see that smile, it means The World.
