Vernon Forrest, born in the United States on February 12, 1971, had an outstanding start in boxing as an amateur, winning a silver medal at the 1991 World Amateur Boxing Championships.
In November 1992 he fought his first fight as a professional. In January 2002 he won the WBC world title and in July 2007 the WBC super welterweight world title, knocking out the Italian Michele Piccirillo.
In his professional career he had a total of 44 fights, with a record of 41 victories and 3 losses. In his successful career he faced fighters of the stature of Sergio Mora, Carlos Baldomir, Ike Quartey, Ricardo Mayorga and Shane Mosley.
Markus Beyer, born in Erlabrunn, Germany, on April 28, 1971, won a bronze medal at the 1995 World Amateur Boxing Championships. He participated in two Olympic Games in 1992 and 1996.
In November 1996 he fought his first fight as a professional. In October 1999 he won the WBC world title in the super middleweight category.
In his professional career he had a total of 39 fights, with a record of 35 wins, 3 losses and one draw.
In his career he fought Mikkel Kessler, Sakio Bika, Danny Green, Danny Green and Eric Lucas.
