Tyson was recognized at an emotional dinner in Uzbekistan

As part of the activities of the World Boxing Council Annual Convention held in the beautiful city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a dinner was held in honor of former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson.

In this emotional event, the WBC presented a classic belt from the 70s to Tyson, the same model worn by fighters of the stature of Muhammad Ali, Salvador Sánchez, Azumah Nelson, among others.

The WBC President commented: “We are very happy to be in this great nation and to be able to give this recognition to a champion who will be remembered for all eternity, Mike Tyson.”

The ceremony paused to transmit a message of blessings sent by Pope Francis, making it a very special moment.
