This morning during “Coffee Tuesdays” Japanese Tomoki Kameda raised his hand to ask the WBC for the opportunity to fight against the current world champion Rey Vargas, because if he wants something it is not only to avenge the defeat with Rey but mainly to become a Greengates and Gold Champion.
Tatsuru Yoshikawa, Tomoki’s manager, was grateful for the opportunity to be here and ask for the fight with Vargas, because they know that they have all the weapons to win and become the new monarchs of the featherweight division.
Tomoki, who has a Mexican ethos , was clear in saying that right now Japanese boxing is going through one of its best moments. He believes that if Inoue is the best pound for pound, he should leave Japan fight in other countries as the greatest boxers in history have done.
Returning to his future plans, Tomoki hopes that he can gain the fight with Rey but he also wants to open a boxing gym more focused on children because he believes that as a society we should focus on helping and encouraging the young ones.
Confident that 2024 will be his year, Tomoki thanked everyone who in one way or another has brought him this far, and assured that he will crowned world champion again.
