The WBC Red Towel (VIDEO)

When it comes to a boxer’s safety, it`s a red alert priority.

At the World Boxing Council Convention in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, an innovation was approved whereby a red towel with white letters reading: Stop this fight! will allow the boxer’s corner to halt the action, for the sake of the fighter’s health.
This system debuted in the fight between the undefeated Albanian Ermal Hadribeaj and the Mexican Carlos Molina, who was dominated throughout the fight. His own corner threw the new red towel at minute 2:16 of the last round.
