The World Boxing Council created the “Heroes of Humanity” awards to recognize all those who have bravely faced the Covid-19 pandemic, be they medical personnel, first aid workers, police departments, firefighters, boxers, trainers, promoters or fans.
The most important thing is to recognize the work they do, in many cases daily, by risking their own lives to help and protect others during these hard times we are experiencing and enduring.
We are very proud of the number of “Heroes of Humanity” that we have recognized. Brave and benevolent acts are what keep us united and moving forward, combatting this complicated battle.
The Representative of the United States Congresswoman, Grace Napolitano, joined our initiative, so that American citizens who receive the “Heroes of Humanity” Medal, also receive a personalized certificate by the United States Congress, recognizing them as members of honor.
We want to make it clear that the WBC’s “Heroes of Humanity” Awards are a good faith initiative and all nominations are deemed reliable and truthful. In the event of any controversy, the committee may deem it necessary to investigate the circumstances and may revoke the award at any time.
We invite the entire world boxing community to nominate anyone you think should be recognized. Send an email to president@wbcboxing.com with the candidate’s name and a description of his/her actions to be considered a “Hero of Humanity”.
