The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán express their most sincere congratulations to Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, for winning the electoral contest that will make her the first woman to become President of Mexico.
The WBC has witnessed the great support that Dr Sheinbaum has given to sport and in particular to boxing, a discipline that has given Mexico the greatest number of victories worldwide and whose popularity and roots are legion among the population of Mexico.
Her leadership has been fundamental in various events and activations with the WBC, from the official opening of our 59th annual Convention as Mayor of Mexico City, the massive class in the Zócalo of Mexico City setting a Guinness record; her appointment as honorary champion receiving from the hands of the WBC champions the Green and Gold Belt; the appointment of Mauricio Sulaimán as ambassador of security and justice through the Citizen Security Council of Mexico City, among many others.
Claudia Sheinbaum was present along with Héctor and Mauricio Sulaimán during the unforgettable visit to Pope Francis in which in addition to obtaining his blessing for the Fury vs Usyk fight, the Pope gave her the task of delivering the rose made by his goldsmith Adrian Pallarols to the Basilica of Guadalupe, in addition to many other requests from the Holy Father.
Congratulations Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and thank you for supporting boxing and its boxers!
