Red letter day Thursday for the 6th edition of the WBC Green Belt Challenge in Los Angeles.
Together with the LA Sheriffs Department and the Alhambra Youth Boing Club, with the collaboration of USA Boxing, the show was created to give young fighters a different experience, making it a very cordial family affair. It has been the priority of The WBC to make it free for all assistants, boxers and families.
World Champions of today and the past, come to the venue to be with the kids, give them advice, autographs and photos and have a great time with their fellow champions.
Our show has grown so much, that we now need 2 rings to accommodate all participants in this 3 day event. We estimate a total of 140 fights over 3 days. Young boxers from age 6 to 18 come with the dream of winning the prestigious WBC Amateur Belt.
Three belts are given to the best performer in each of the 3 age group categories plus 1 for female boxer.
One of the highlights of our show are the Elite fights, one for boys and the other for girls and the winner of each bout goes home with The WBC Elite Amateur Belt.
Everyone that gets into the ring receives a WBC medal, instilling a sense of pride like no other.
Sponsors are very important, as without them, the show would not be possible. The WBC appreciates their efforts in helping us to make dreams come true.
