We live in a world where social connections are essential for work, personal, school, sports, among many more.
It is often thought that the more social connections we have, the greater our emotional well-being, but it is important to know how to differentiate between positive ties and ties that can generate stress at all times.
In sport it is more complex, for a high-performance athlete and it may be more difficult to maintain lasting ties due to their continuous training in camps, competitions and long days of training. However, gym mates become friends, trainers become part of the family, some more seek to create loving relationships with people who understand the rhythm of life and some more choose to have a more private circle of friends.
The importance of creating healthy, positive relationships that give us peace of mind is of utmost importance for good mental health not only in sport. This will allow better development in many areas of a person’s life, starting with the relationship. most important: That of oneself.
Maintaining social connections can also help improve mood, providing emotional support and a sense of belonging.
