WBC Amateur Program aims to assist in the development of the best amateur boxing programs in the world with events all around the world.
The WBC Amateur Committee is committed to providing the highest level of support and services to all amateur boxers and those involved in the sport, including the organization and operation of well-managed tournaments, assistance in training and equipment, providing medical information and nutritional, and providing advice and education for those who need or seek help.
This is to help as many boxers as possible reach their full potential both inside and outside the ring. We believe that amateur boxing can help provide purpose in life, improve a person’s physical and mental health, and help establish a future in a positive way. Additionally, we look forward to continuing to give back to the community through our work with charitable causes and help bring communities together, as the WBC Amateur Committee is committed to being an engine of change.
In Astana city, in Kazakhstan, there was a WBC Green Belt Tournament. The event was supported by the Professional Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan and it’s leader Rakhimzhan Yerdenbekov, Vice President of the Professional Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan.
Qualifying rounds for the tournament took place in different cities of Kazakhstan during several months. 700 young promising boxers took part in the event representing North, South, West and East of the country.
On the 21st of October the semifinals took place and on the 22nd of October we had the finals in 5 weight divisions: 57 kgs, 61.2 kgs, 66.5 kgs, 76.2 kgs, +85 kgs.
The participants of the event were boys of 15-16 years old. The winner of the tournament got a WBC Amateur Kazakhstan belt and a gold medal. For second place, a silver medal and for the third-place bronze.
We thank all the persons who made this tournament possible. We recognize all the fighters and urge them to keep fighting with the same heart and will, in order to seek, find, accomplish and fulfill their dreams.
