The Virtual Auction organized by the Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation, to help pediatric Type 1 and 2 diabetes research and care, towards a cure, has raised 181,000 dollars with its week long effort.

Foundation Executive Director Jennifer Wilson said: “It`s been a ton of fun, and a sincere thank you to everyone who`s bid.  We`ve been raising money for this so worthy cause for more than eleven years and during this time, we`ve raised three and a half million dollars.

“Ray often says that this charity is very close to his heart, because his Father had diabetes and also many of his family and friends, have been affected by this chronic disease.

“Ray recognizes that he was so blessed as a fighter inside of the ring, and now he wants to give back and make a difference outside of the ring. Children`s causes are his focus of all philanthropic efforts.”
