Spence Jr. vs. Garcia- truly a classic clash on December 5

The welterweight champion of the World Boxing Council Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. and the former world champion in two divisions, Danny “Swift” García, will meet on Saturday, December 5 at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, on a card presented by Premier Boxing Champions, which will be broadcast live on PPV FOX.

Undefeated Errol Spence, Jr. (26-0, 21 KOs) will return to the ring for the first time after suffering a car accident in October 2019 and from which he is fully recovered.

Errol, who is doing his preparation guided by his trainer Derrick James, to insure and guarantee that he is 100% in shape for this important commitment.

“I feel blessed and ready for combat. We have been training hard and staying focused. I can’t wait to get in the ring. I will show that I am still the best welterweight in the world. Defeating Danny García will show my level, ”commented the champion.

Danny “Swift” García (36-2, 21 KOs), of Puerto Rican origin, is from Philadelphia and has already been a WBC super lightweight champion, defining himself by defeating quality rivals Erik Morales, Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Lucas Matthysse, Nate Campbell and Kendall Holt. In his welterweight campaign where he was also a WBC champion, he defeated former champions Lamont Peterson, Paulie Malignaggi and Robert Guerrero.
His only two losses came to Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter in thrilling fights involving the 147-pound WBC title.

Danny, who is preparing with his father and trainer Angel Garcia, is fully confident that he will achieve victory, commenting:

“I am very excited to be back in the ring. This will be my second fight of 2020. Even though it has been a crazy year with the pandemic, I am glad that I can finally look to win back my welterweight crown. I know Errol is a very good champion, but I have all the tools to defeat him.”

Spence Jr.’s most recent fight was in September of last year, when he defeated Shawn Porter. While Garcia is coming off defeating Ukrainian Ivan Redkach in January of this year.
