Today after a long time of not seeing each other, the boxing family was able to meet for our traditional “Coffee Tuesday.”

It was here at the Railroad Theater, where the commemorative “Mestizo Belt” was exhibited. It be contested by Saul Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders on May 8 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

With a warm welcome from Víctor Flores Morales, leader of the Union of Railroad Workers of the Mexican Republic, this traditional conference began counting with the attendance of great celebrities from the world of boxing, among them former world champions Humberto González, Carlos Zarate, Pipino Cuevas, Lupe Pintor, Rafael Limón, Francisco Vargas, Juan Hernández, as well as Mariana Juárez and her sister, the current WBC super flyweight champion, Lulu Juárez and Pivi Romero.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman stated that Don Víctor’s hospitality and disposition was the best setting for this face-to-face return to Coffee Tuesday. He also stressed that we must still take care of ourselves and maintain all precautions, adding that it is a pleasure to be able to be with so many friends again.

It`s an honor that the emblematic belt of the WBC is created for the most special dates for Mexico (May 5 and September 15) with the most important symbolisms of our different cultures. These commemorative belts are prizes won by boxers who fight on the aforementioned dates, thus creating a tradition for boxing by highlighting two occasions that are 100% boxing and that fans are waiting impatiently for.

Mauricio Sulaiman expressed the satisfaction of being able to recognize the greatness of Mexico through this belt that embodies with every detail the beautiful tradition of charrería; He commented that the final result was beyond what he imagined, because the heartfelt genius craftsmanship.

Amateur fighter Iyana Roxonie Verduzco, presented the Mestizo Belt to Mauricio Sulaiman who in turn presented it to Don Víctor Flores, who raised it for all, while flanked by all the world champions.

To close this great event, Don Víctor prepared a great surprise for everyone by bringing the folklore of Mexico to the stage with dances that took us on a colorful tour of various states of the Mexican Republic.
