Seventh Successful Title Defense for Yamileth Mercado

New RING TELMEX-TELCEL adoptee, Yamileth “Yeimi” Mercado, had few problems in retaining the world super bantamweight title for the seventh time, by defeating Peruvian Linda Laura Lecca, “Triple L” to a packed house, at the Nuevo Toreo, in Tijuana, Baja California.

The three Judges saw the fighter from Chihuahua win, with identical scores: 100-90.

The Peruvian fighter was surpassed at all times,  by “Yeimi”, who forced the actions during all of the 10 rounds.

So,  “Yeimi” Mercado promised to return stronger than ever for the eighth defense of her super bantamweight title; which she conquered and has maintained pristine plus intact since 2019.

At 26 years old, Mercado has established herself as one of the best and strongest world champions in recent times.
