Short And Winding Road to #HaneyGarcia: USA vs USA

We are less than a fortnight from fight night, when World Boxing Council super lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney and former Interim champion Ryan “KingRy”  Garcia clash on Saturday, April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Devin Haney, who is undefeated,  has achieved 31 wins. He gloriously won the undisputed 135-pound world title, and then ambitiously climbed a division, to become WBC super lightweight champion, defeating rugged Regis Prograis.

“King” Ryan García, who was already interim WBC lightweight champion, has become one of the biggest names in boxing and, at only 25 years old, has burst onto the world scene with aplomb. He is determined to return to the ring stronger than ever, and proclaim himself as the ultimate rival in the division.

Both fighters have a great rivalry, as they have already fought 6 times as amateurs, achieving 3 victories each. Accordingly, we remember some of the great rivalries that have existed between US fighters.
