On November 24, Hurricane Otis made landfall in the state of Acapulco, Guerrero, as a powerful category five hurricane, being one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded in the Mexican Pacific.
With winds of more than 260 km/h and gusts of up to 315 km/h, Otis left in its wake a scene of devastation and destruction, involving the fall of communication systems and a panorama where many of its inhabitants have lost everything.
Silver champion Alan David Picasso and his team, together with the World Boxing Council, brought food and essential items to those who need it most.
We are convinced that Acapulco will shine again in all its splendor, since this is and has always been one of the most iconic tourist destinations, which thanks to the exuberant beauty of its waters and cliffs, its gastronomy, culture, ecotourism and night life has attracted and welcomed numerous celebrities and personalities worldwide.
Today our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters from Acapulco who a year ago opened the doors of their beautiful state to us to celebrate our annual Convention, with the Palacio Mundo Imperial Hotel as its headquarters.
