Japan’s Yoshiaki Numata, defeated Australian Lionel Rose by unanimous decision in 15 rounds, defending the WBC super featherweight title at the Prefectural Gymnasium in Hiroshima. All the officials were from Japan. The Judges were Nobumitsu Inukai and Toru Kimura, and the Referee was Hiroyuki Tezaki.
