The immortal Tony Canzoneri, who was three times world Champion, conquered the lightweight title defeating Lou Ambers, who was down in 3rd and 15th, by unanimous decision . The championship was vacant, as Barney Ross relinquished it. The bout took place at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Referee was the almost equally famous Arthur Donovan.
