1981.- At the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul, Korea, Mexican Antonio Avelar defended his WBC flyweight title by knocking out Korean Taeshik Kim in the second round.

1986.- In Cordoba, Argentina, Mexican Gilberto Roman defended his WBC super flyweight title, drawing in a close fight against Argentine Santos Laciar.

1987.- Jamaican Lloyd Honeyghan defended his title by knocking out American Gene Hatcher in the first round. The fight took place in Plaza de Toros de Nueva Andalucía, Marbella, Spain.

2008.- Mexican Cristian Mijares defended his WBC super flyweight title by knocking out Thai Chatchai Sasakul in the third round. The match took place in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
