1975.- In the Carta Clara Park in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexican Miguel Canto defended his WBC flyweight title by knocking out Japanese Jiro Takada in the 11th round.

1986.- At the Miami Convention Center, Colombian Miguel “Happy” Lora defended his WBC bantamweight title by knocking out Dominican Enrique Sánchez in the sixth round.

1998.- In a big card where three WBC titles were disputed, held in Yokohama, Japan, Joichiro Tatsuyoshi defended his WBC bantamweight title by defeating Paul Ayaya in the seventh round. In another bout, Mexican César Bazán defended his WBC lightweight title by defeating Hiroyuki Sakamoto by decision. Also, Thai Wandee Chor Chareon won the WBC straw-weight title by defeating Taiwan native Rocky Lin by decision.
