1976.- At the Nuevo Panama Gymnasium in Panama City, local fighter Rigoberto Riasco knocked out Kenyan Waruinge Nakayama in 9 rounds. With this victory Rigoberto conquered the WBC super bantamweight title.
1998.- Erik “Terrible” Morales successfully defended his WBC super bantamweight title, stopping southpaw, Remigio Daniel Molina in six rounds, in Tijuana, México. Morales just kept on developing, conquering the featherweight, super featherweight, and super lightweight titles.
