1966.- At Madison Square Garden in New York, American Emile Griffith defeated Nigerian Dick Tiger by decision, defending his WBC middleweight title.

1981.- North American Matthew Saad Muhammad defended his WBC light heavyweight title by knocking out British Murray Sutherland in 9 rounds. The fight took place at the Resorts International in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

1992.- In the Kings Hall of Belfast, Northern Ireland, British Paul Hodkinson knocked out American Steve Cruz in 3 rounds, defending his WBC featherweight title.

1995.- Mexican Miguel Angel González defeated Argentine Ricardo Silva by decision at the Convention Center in South Padre Island, Texas. With this victory González defended his WBC lightweight title.

2009.- British Carl Froch defended his WBC super middleweight title by knocking out American Jermain Taylor in round 12. The bout took place at Mashantucket’s Foxwoods Resort.
