Montserrat Raya receives Fecarbox belt

Today was a special day for the boxing family, as our traditional Coffee Tuesday was full of great characters; among them, the atomweight champion, Montserrat Raya.

Montserrat Raya conquered the Fecarbox straw-weight belt by defeating Silvia Torres in what was a very competitive fight more than a year ago and today that the pandemic subsides, the President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, presented her with that belt.

The fighter trained by former champion José Luis Bueno, has many dreams yet to come true and this is what she told us.

“I want to thank the WBC for this recognition. All the fighters are very proud to receive our belts.

“My biggest dream has been to be champion of the World Boxing Council and I am ready to be. My plan this year is to unify the Atom division by defeating Bytyqi and be able to wear the Green and Gold colors”
