Yamileth “Yeimi” Mecardo is vowing to fight like a Tigress to defend her WBC Absolute super-bantamweight title for the fifth time on March 18^th at the Manuel Bernardo Aguirre Gym in Chihuahua, against challenger Kudakwashe Chiwandire from Zimbabwe.

Yamileth who`s The Pride of Mexico has been champion since 2019 when she defeated Fatuma Zarika in Cd Cuauhtemoc, after previously losing to her by a razor thin SD in Nairobi.

Her latest challenger is also out of Africa…namely Kudakwashe “Take Money” Chiwandire, who defeated experienced Zulina “La Loba” via UD for the WBC Interim Title in Harare in Zimbabwe is hardly a kitten! Having defeated “The She Wolf” Kudakwashe is travelling all the way to Mexico, on the trail of the champion.

At this week`s Martes a Cafe in Hacienda de Cortes in Coyocan, famed for its delicious breakfasts, and on International Women`s Day, both champion and challenger greeted each other, with both on Zoom, on big screens in front of an appreciative audience. When asked about the prospect of coming into the Lioness` Den for this challenge Kudakwashe didn`t… pause. She audaciously relied, issuing a “Dire” warning: “In Africa…we eat lions for breakfast!”
