In Mexico, sports has become a lifestyle alternative, for some it has become therapy and for others it is a lifestyle that even becomes a job.
Talking about sport is synonymous with health and well-being but it also involves competition, sacrifice, satisfaction, effort, will, among many more.
Sport has an important and significant impact on society by promoting values such as discipline, dedication, teamwork and personal improvement. When we deep dig in sport, we find many athletes who have managed to raise the name of Mexico worldwide. Ricardo “Finito” López, Humberto “La Chiquita” Gonzales, Julio Cesar Chavez, Salvador Sanchez, Erik “El Terrible” Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez, Rey Vargas, Juan Manuel Marquez, Rafael Maquez, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Ruben Olivares, Raul “Raton” Macias, Kid Azteca.
One of the most important aspects of the impact of sport on society is personal development, social inclusion being a powerful means for participation in sporting events regardless of gender or socio-economic position.
Sport goes beyond winning or not winning competitions, winning or not winning fights or belts. Sport is a positive medium for society, bringing us closer to an incredible world of opportunities where profits can range from economic to emotional, but above all it keeps the population away from many social problems such as addictions, bullying, discrimination, among many more. Sport saves lives and promoting it is also everyone’s job.
