The unification of the four heavyweight belts between Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs, WBC champion) and Olekksandr Usyk (21-0-0, 14 KOs, IBF, WBO AND WBA champion) will take place on May 18th at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, the same venue and stadium where it was initially scheduled in February.
Fury suffered a deep cut above his right eye during a sparring session preparing for the duel against the Ukrainian, which required rapid medical intervention and a necessary recovery time.
Fury’s last performance was in October last year, also in Riyadh, against the Cameroonian Francis Ngannou (0-1-0), scoring a victory on points, after overcoming a knockdown in the third round.
Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois (20-2-0, 19 KOs) in Poland last August in the ninth round.
