Mauricio Sulaimán and Fernando Beltrán present WBC silver belt to José “Chon” Zepeda

Today, from Tijuana, Baja California, the President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, and Fernando Beltrán of Zanfer Promotions, presented José “Chon” Zepeda with the belt that recognies him as the WBC silver super lightweight champion.

José comes from defeating Iván by knockout in the fifth round in an elimination bout and with the silver super lightweight championship at stake, at the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas.

What made this battle really special was sheer intrepid and persistent  bravery that José and Ivan showed, as they both got up from the canvas on multiple occasions with the intention of conquering glory, giving us, without a doubt, one of the best and most dramatic fights of 2020.

Fernando Beltrán commented that he felt very honored to represent a hero of the ring, namely- José Zepeda. He noted that it is a responsibility and obligation of Zanfer, to recognize those who give and leave everything in the ring.

Mauricio Sualimán praised José’s courage, as it was his heart, dedication and passion that allowed him to come out ahead in this fight full of drama.
