Champion Lupita Martínez will end a year of inactivity when she defends her WBC super flyweight crown against Lourdes ‘Little Lulu’ Juarez, on December 12 at Televisa studios in Mexico City.
Lourdes (30-2, 4 KOs) is the younger sister of former WBC bantamweight and flyweight world champion Mariana ‘Barbie’ Juárez. For Lupita it will be the sixth defense of the crown that she seized by unanimous decision from the popular Zulina ‘Loba’ Muñoz, in a tremendous fight, on May 13, 2017 in Cancun.
Lupita, originally from Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico, shows a record of 20-9, six knockouts.
Among the fighters that she has defeated are Irma “Torbellino” García, Yuliahn “Cobrita” Luna and Yessica “Kika” Chávez.
In her most recent bout , last September in Tlalnepantla, ‘Little Lulu’ was tested to the maximum by beating Kandy Sandoval by decision.
