An international card will adorn the 60th Annual Convention of the World Boxing Council in Acapulco, Mexico, in which Jonathan “Perita” Escobedo and Misael Cabrera will dispute the WBC International Lightweight Championship.
It will be on November 11 when No Puedes Jugar Boxeo Promotions, No Boxing No Life, Mundo Imperial, Round Zero and Borizteca Boxing present the official function of the 60th Annual Convention at the GNP Seguros Arena, which will be free for all fans.
The main fight of the show will be between “Perita” Escobedo (10-3-1, 4 KOs) and Cabrera (12-1, 9 KOs), a duel between Mexicans and where the title will be at stake. Jonathan arrives with a streak of two victories, against an opponent who arrives with the spirit of revenge, after losing his undefeated record in June.
The international card will have the presence of the Guatemalan Lester Martínez, the American David Alaverdian and the Russian Valerii Oganisian, who will face Mexican rivals.
Lester Martínez (13-0, 11 KOs), undefeated and the nascent figure of Guatemalan boxing, will look for one more victory in his career when he faces Fabián Ríos (7-5-3, 4 KOs), eight rounds at super middleweight.
David Alaverdian (6-0, 5 KOs), will face Geovanny Meza (4-0-1, 4 KOs) in a six-round flyweight duel; while the Russian Oganisian (5-0, 3 KOs) will have Mahatma García (1-1, 1 KO) as his opponent, in super lightweight for six rounds.
There will also be women’s activity with the duel between María “Polvorita” Salinas (25-8-5) and Esmeralda “Pelusa” Gaona (7-4-1), over six rounds in the flyweight division and a constant exchange is expected, like the fights between Mexican boxers.
The knockout artist Saulo “Tren” Morales (9-1, 8 KOs) and Romario Ovalle (10-4, 6 KOs) will fight for 8 rounds at middleweight, and Juan “Pollo” Toscano (10-3, 2 KOs) will face Jesús “Chikilin” Cadena (3-4-1), 6 rounds at light flyweight.
The function will have a significant plus, since the Tijuana singer Javier Munguía will be present, who is the uncle of boxer Jaime Munguía and who has sung the Mexican National Anthem in fights of the former super welterweight world champion.
