The Amazing Muay Thai World Festival 2024 at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand. The global spectacle witnessed 600 Muay Thai exponents from 58 countries competing for the gold, silver and bronze medals of the prestigious WBC Muay Thai World Championship.

The famous Spanish film director José Luis Garci was recognized by the World Boxing Council as a key element in the dissemination and enhancement of boxing. Garci, who has just turned 80 and is still active. Not only is he a director who received recognition from the Hollywood Academy by winning the Oscar for best foreign language film, but every day through the media, continues to spread the values of boxing.

With the aim of promoting the culture of sports in the society of that state, various Mass Boxing Fitness Classes were held by the WBC Fitness boxing instructor and professional boxer, Rosy Olvera.

As part of the activities of the Campeones De La Guelaguetza card in Oaxaca, a museum was set up where the history of boxing in Mexico and internationally could be appreciated through the exhibition of historical boxing items from the WBC and a photographic gallery.

Mauricio Sulaimán Saldivar celebrated 10 years since he was elected President of the World Boxing Council, following the death of our beloved Don José Sulaimán, who led the WBC for thirty-eight years.

Japanese Junto Nakatani became the World Boxing Council bantamweight champion by technically knocking out the Mexican Alexandro “Peque” Santiago in the sixth round, at the Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
World Boxing Council and WBO bantamweight champion Dina Thorslund retained her belts by defeating Mary Romero with an eighth-round knockout in Denmark.

Within the facilities of the Senate of the Republic, Senator José Narro Céspedes met with the boxing family not only to remember and commemorate the man who changed and transformed boxing, Don José Sulaimán, but also and precisely in this spirit of serving the sport launch the initiative for legal regulation, because to this day this is something that does not exist and is imperative for a sport that has given so much glory to Mexico.
