Erickson Lubin and Sebastian Fundora will clash tomorrow at the Virgin Hotels Theater in Las Vegas for the World Boxing Council Interim Super Welterweight title, in an event presented by PBC and to be broadcast on SHOWTIME.
The winner between Lubin, 26, and Fundora, 24, will soon have to face the winner of the rematch between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castaño.
Southpaw Lubin, of Orlando, Fla., will be riding a six-fight win streak into the fight with Fundora. Lubin most recently knocked out former champion Jeison Rosario in the sixth round on June 26 in Atlanta.
The towering 6-foot-6 Fundora will have the toughest test of his career, against Lubin. The lanky southpaw improved his record to 18 wins, without loss, when he defeated Spaniard Sergio Garcia by unanimous decision in an entertaining elimination bout on December 5 in Los Angeles.
This Friday both fighters passed the weigh-in without major problem. Lubin registered 153.2 pounds, while Fundora was 152.8 pounds.
