Bearded Floyd never bristled. Instead charm and a smile as he said: “I will always support boxing and stand up for the fighters. Thank you for keeping our sport alive. I thank the WBC. I became champion twenty four years ago, defeating Genaro Hernandez, God Bless and Rest In Peace.
“The Green and Gold Belt wasn’t Uncle Roger`s first championship, but it was mine! As a child, I used to sit in my room on my bed…and I said…one day. Jose Sulaiman believed in my and now Mauricio believes in me, and I believe in the WBC.
“Thank you to the promoters. Keep up the good work.”
