“Canelo” back Home at last

Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will fight again in Mexican territory after a dozen long years away.

The last time he fought on Mexican territory was in the Mexico City Bullring. That night he defeated Kermit Cintron, to successfully defend his WBC 154Lbs. belt.

Following this fight, “Canelo” began a prolific stage in his career by accepting new challenges abroad. After more than a decade fighting outside his country, he has managed to establish himself as the most important figure in world boxing today.

In addition to facing and defeating the best fighters from around the world, during this magic spell the man from Guadalajara managed to win world championships in the super welterweight, middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight divisions.

Saturday, May 6, Saúl Canelo Álvarez will return to Jalisco, the place where it all started,  to defend his undisputed 168 championship against John Ryder at Akron Stadium.
