Since its creation, the World Boxing Council has dedicated its efforts and everything possible to take care of the physical and mental state of all boxers inside and outside the ring.
It is for this reason that the WBC allied with the digital platform Conexion Facil 2.0 led by Dr. Andrew Kluger Gerber, to launch the “BoxMed” app.
BoxMed is a great application that has been developed by Conexión Fácil, under the leadership of Andrew Kluger. This new technology is in charge of taking the WBC weight management program to the next level in order to serve the boxing community, monitoring the weight of all champions and first 15 world ranked fighters, with the purpose of preventing dramatic weight changes, since this It is the athlete’s most persistent rival.
Future plans of the app are that it will also monitor medical injuries, provide advice focused on nutrition, training tips, and much more.
Today we have the participation of Dr. Andrew Kluger Gerber and the President of WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán in our weekly press conference and this is what they commented about this strategy:
Mauricio Sulaiman
“Andrew’s work has us at the forefront of fighters´ care. Thanks to technology we have access to this platform in everyone around the world.
“We will begin a strong registration process, since champions and first 15 rankings must be part of the program.
We invite gyms, promoters, managers to join us in this registration campaign.”
Andrew Kluger
“We already have two languages available, English and Spanish. We are working now now on the development in Japanese.
“We want to show you how quick and easy the registration process is with the help of historical champion Mariana “Barby” Juárez.”
As part of their presentation, the BoxMed team helped register several amateur and professional fighters in attendance, including Matsidisho ‘The Tiger’ Mokebisi, highlighting the importance that this new technology will have in the world of boxing.
The World Boxing Council Board of Governors elected Dr. Andrew Kluger Gerber as Man of the Year 2023 during our last annual Convention, last November in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, due to his commitment, protecting the health of the fighters.
