Boxing Transcends Borders and Summers

Great champions Carlos Zárate, Rafael “Bazooka” Limón, Francisco Vargas, Isaac Bustos, Edgar Sosa, César Bazán, Daniel Estrada, Reyes Sánchez, David Picasso and Juan Carlos Salgado went to the “Boxing Legion” and met with the vocalist of the popular band Hombres G, David Summers.

“I like boxing because I inherited it from my father. From the age of five I started training and becoming interested in this sport, watching fights.

“Boxing is a sport like no others. If is a noble fight between two gentlemen; and also everything that is behind and that involves boxing” commented the Spanish singer.

“The greatest has been Muhammad Ali and I had the opportunity to meet Julio César Chávez, who has been the boxer with the best technique I’ve ever seen; Mexican boxing is the best because they are all warriors, they always move forward.

“In the 80s I had more idols but today I like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua; I think that today there are not as many stars as in those years in all weights” said Summers.

Regarding meeting with great former champions, David stated “I am overwhelmed to see so many champions, to meet Carlos Zárate, to David Picasso, I am very surprised to be here.”

For his part, Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council, announced that David Summers: “Will be an ambassador of the WBC in Spain, in social responsibility activities, promoting boxing.”
