The annual WBC convention, this time taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, came to an end but it did it in a very specil way as the WBC Cares family visited the International Paralympic Committee, as a surprise for the young people and children as they were cheered up by heavyweight legends Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield.
The emotional event was led by the president of the WBC, Mr. Mauricio Sulaiman and the new member of the WBC Supreme Council, Mr. Gafur Rakhimov, the director of WBC Cares Jill Diamond, as well as the former champions Humberto González, Daniel Zaragoza, Billy Dib, Umi Ushikawa, the bravest man of the world, Bridger Walker and Michael Magnesi.
The children welcomed the boxing family with great enthusiasm and after being presented with a championship cares kit and some other prizes, they had the opportunity to spend time with the champions and former world champions.
A very special visit that meant the opportunity to bring a strong message to these children and young people that dreams might come true and that there are no obstacles that can diminish the spirit of a warrior.
Visibly moved, the boxing idol Mike Tyson addressed the audience, sharing with them a little about his journey urging them not to let themselves be defeated, as despite the path can sometimes be difficult, the satisfaction of reaching dreams and goals are something invaluable.
For the president of the WBC, Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán, this visit was very emotional because it was meeting the true heroes of the sport, learning about their history and learning from their greatness.
