Madison Square Garden graces an historic stellar fight in women’s boxing, when Pound For Pound Icon Amanda Serrano, from Puerto Rico, the unified 126-pound champion, fights the champion of the WBA, Mexican Érika Cruz, on Saturday night, as another milestone in the titanic rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Serrano (43-2-1, 30 knockouts), champion in seven categories, will seek to fulfill her dream of giving Puerto Rico her first undisputed champion, a feat yet to be achieved.
It`s at the Hulu theater, nestled in Madison Square Garden and will be broadcast live on the DAZN application.
Serrano last saw action in September, when she beat then undefeated world champion Sarah Mahfoud of Denmark by unanimous decision. Cruz won the WBA belt in April 2021, when she defeated former two-division world champion Jelena Mrdjenovich of Canada by technical decision in New York.
Today, both champions passed the official weigh-in without any setbacks:
Amanda Serrano: 125.4 lbs
Erika Cruz: 125.4 Lbs.
