1990.- Korean Sungkil Moon defended his super flyweight title at the World Trade Center in Seoul, defeating the Ghanaian fighter, Nana Konadu, by technical decision in 9 rounds. After dominating most of the fight, Moon suffered a cut from an accidental headbutt, rendering him unable to continue the fight.
2001.- Mexican José Luis Castillo knocked out his fellow countryman César Bazán in 6 rounds, in Las Vegas, Nevada. With this win, José Luis defended his WBC lightweight crown.
2001.- In Las Vegas, Nevada, Floyd Mayweather dominated Diego Corrales, knocking him down 5 times until knocking him out in the tenth round, making one more defense of his WBC super featherweight title.
2007.- British Junior Witter knocked out the Mexican Arturo Morua in the seventh round, in a card held at Alexandra Palace in Wood Green, London, defending his WBC super lightweight title.
2000.- The former WBC super flyweight champion Jesse Rodríguez was born. Jesse who won the title in a great fight against Carlos Cuadras and made two successful defenses against the Thai legend Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and the Mexican Israel Gonzalez.
2019.- The sixth edition of the José Sulaimán Champions Race was held to benefit WBC Cares in Mexico City. The godfather of the race was Jorge “Travieso” Arce.
