Tribute to Eddy Reynoso at Mexico´s Senate of the Republic
Trainer Eddy Reynoso was honoured in the Senate of the Republic for his tremendous work in the sport of boxing.
The event was chaired by Ricardo Monreal, coordinator in the Senate and was attended by Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, the best pound for pound fighter of today, Mauricio Sulaiman, President of the World Boxing Council and José “Chepo” Reynoso, Eddy’s father.
Eddy thanked the plenary session of the Senate for the recognition that recognizes him as the trainer of the year by the
World Boxing Council.
“It is a pride to be here and something very important for me. It is the first time a trainer is recognized here. I am grateful to my dad who instilled the love for boxing and to my mom who always pushed me to be the best. Mauricio (Sulaimán) has also supported me, my father has always been there with us, with ‘Canelo’, who has always been with me.
“We are so very excited because it has been difficult to reach where we are. I feel very proud of all the work, all this is dedicated to my two daughters and to my family, to my boxers, to all my countrymen, to all the Mexicans who are always supporting in the arenas of Dallas and Las Vegas.
“Just to see so many flags of Mexico, to see kids with painted red hair who want to follow the great champions. We are
very proud of all this, and I can only thank you.”
Eddy also mentioned, he was moved to tears while he was applauded by everyone at this so memorable ceremony.
