Day two of seminars for ring officials at the World Boxing Council as part of the activities of the WBC 59th Convention at the Intercontinental Presidente Hotel in Mexico City.
With the participation of more than 130 judges and referees from all around the world, the ring officials committee addressed some important issues that referees should always keep in mind when being appointed to a fight.
In this block, a series of rounds were analysed and the attendees were asked to rate such fights as they regularly do; However, after they did, the video was repeated adding the parameters that the WBC is promoting by using a gauge that marks the following categories: close, moderate, decisive, extremely decisive.
The panel addressed ring officials´ questions including the scorecard that will include these categories.
The discussion went all the way to the challenges about the lack of homogeneity that is needed to make our sport continue to grow globally.
Duane Ford urged the ring officials not to forget their training and to continue to give of their best in order to protect the integrity of the fighters, never forgetting fairness and justice.
