The Ring Officials committee, chaired by the president of the NABF, Duane Ford, started activities within the 59th Annual Convention of the World Boxing Council, held at the Intercontinental Hotel President of CDMX.
The seminar was divided into 3 stages. During the first session, the committee discussed what elements the judge should consider when evaluating a round.
In the second block, officials Jay Nady and Frank Garza discussed the roles and responsibilities of a referee before and during the fight. During this segment, the panel opened the discussion and the analysts had the opportunity to comment on their impressions and ask their main questions.
In the third block, the ring officials showed videos of complicated actions to exemplify situations that demand the most refined and effective criteria to make a fair evaluation.
Tomorrow there will be a second day of workshops, where the main tasks, challenges and growth opportunities of WBC referees and judges will be discussed.
