The World Boxing Council will host the inaugural WBC MuayThai World Convention in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 13 to March 16, 2020, and the host site for this auspicious event will be The Athenee Hotel, in central Bangkok.
The WBC MuayThai has been in existence for over sixteen years, having been established by the World Boxing Council President, Jose Sulaiman, along with his dear friend, WBC Vice-President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi. Since 2005, the WBC MuayThai has crowned a host of world, International and national champions from all corners of the globe.
The opening ceremony of the WBC MuayThai Convention will celebrate Thai culture and showcase the ancient traditions of MuayThai, Thailand’s National sport.
The first-ever World Boxing Council MuayThai convention will host two-days of WBC MuayThai workshops and training seminars for ring officials, covering refereeing, judging and rules and regulations of WBC MuayThai championships.
The Convention will host elite MuayThai championships as three WBC MuayThai world title fights will take place during this global gathering in Bangkok, along with a WBC Asia boxing championship title contest.
WBC Asian Boxing Council will also host two-days of training seminars and workshops, covering all aspects of officiating.
The Convention will host an opulent gala dinner where guests will enjoy the delights of Thai cuisine. The annual WBC MuayThai and WBC Asian Boxing Council awards show will take place during the gala dinner, along with a charity auction to raise funds for the WBC Cares initiative.
