Aguascalientes Will Host an Amateur Tournament

During  the traditional “Coffee Tuesdays”, Carmen Márquez presented her next superb event, the Great Amateur Tournament that will take place from July 18 to 20 in Aguascalientes.

This tournament includes the participation of 24 states of the Republic and will take place at the Olympic Gymnasium.

For Professor Carmen Márquez, this tournament predicts a great participation of young people who dream of becoming world champions, a feat accomplished by her two Brothers Juan Manuel and Rafael. Since 700 youngsters are expected to participate in seven men’s and women’s categories respectively, it`s going to be a crucial barometer of potential for the future.

She added that for this edition there will be the participation of special guests from the top universities UNAM and IPN as well as elements of the National Guard.

For Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the WBC, these types of events are specifically and especially the ones that need to be replicated in all corners of the world because today, Olympic boxing is going through one of the most difficult and challenging moments in history. He even gave as an example that barely yesterday he was notified that Argentina will not take boxers to the Olympics. A real blow for nation which has excelled in all levels of boxing.

He especially congratulated Professor Carmen Márquez, a woman thoroughly dedicated to  boxing who is always looking to help and promote the sport, and he urged everyone to follow her shining example.
