Multi-time world champion Mariana ‘La Barby’ Juárez proved she still has vim at 44 years old!

“Barby” outworked, outfought,  overwhelmed and tamed South African rival Matsidisho ‘The Tiger’ Mokebisi, at the Americas Hipódromo Forum in Mexico City.

Mariana Juárez app,ied  an offensive boxing strategy that put  the South African under severe, constant non stop, relentless pressure…without respite.

Reinforced, inspired and invigorated by the clarion support of hundreds of fans, who packed the Forum of the Hipódromo de las Américas, she launched  blistering attack after attack,  with breaking waves of  combinations that buffeted  ‘The Tiger’ without pause.

Referee César Castañón declared a technical knockout in the ninth round, after deciding that she was suffering too much punishment and not fighting back.

Turning the clock back with her hands, Mariana Juárez,  established herself as silver super bantamweight champion and improved her record to 56 victories with 20 KO’s, 13 defeats and 4 draws. What a night…and what a fight!
